Movidius Wins Global Semiconductor Alliance Outstanding EMEA Semiconductor Company Award 2016
December 8th, 2016 – Movidius Limited has been named the Outstanding EMEA Semiconductor Company Award recipient for 2016 by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).
The award was announced and presented in front of an audience of more than 1,500 semiconductor industry executives on December 8th, 2016 at the annual GSA Awards Dinner Celebration.
The annual GSA Awards are one of the industry’s most prestigious events. Each year the GSA recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence through their vision, strategy, execution and future opportunity. The awards celebration honors the achievements of semiconductor companies in several categories ranging from outstanding leadership to financial accomplishments, as well as overall respect within the industry. Movidius was selected for the award by the GSA EMEA leadership council.
Upon receipt of the award, Movidius co-founder Sean Mitchell remarked, “As a company that began 11 years ago as an idea sketched onto a napkin in Dublin, to see Movidius recognized as a global player at the GSA Awards is testament to the hard work and innovation of the entire Movidius team. 2016 was a milestone year for Movidius, one where we began an exciting new chapter as an Intel company. We hope this award serves not just as acknowledgment of our past accomplishments, but as a barometer of the amazing things we will accomplish going forward.”
The GSA was founded in 1994 as a non-profit organization focused on initiatives to promote the growth and profitability of the entire semiconductor supply chain. The Global Semiconductor Alliance represents nearly 400 member companies throughout 35 countries.
