Hello Tello - Ryze Announces Intel Myriad VPU Powered Toy Drone
January 7th, 2018 - Las Vegas - Nevada: Today we are proud to share that an Intel customer, Ryze, has not only emerged from "Stealth Mode", but done so with the launch announcement of their first consumer product - the Tello drone. Tello is a toy-class drone weighing in at less than 85g, but it's diminutive proportions just the beginning of the exciting features Tello offers. Ryze, a startup based in China have sourced cutting edge technologies from both Intel and drone experts DJI to build a stunningly smart and capable toy-class drone. By porting DJI's flight control technology onto the Intel Myriad 2 VPU, and then combining that with advanced imaging and vision processing also running on the VPU, Tello brings features normally reserved for much larger, more expensive drones to an entirely new segment.
Equipped with a 5 megapixel HD main camera, and an array of optical sensors below the craft, Tello is capable of not only some of the most exciting aerial photo and video, but is also capable of sensing the ground below it, allowing stable indoor hover, and even the ability to land on the palm of a user's hand.
Tello was announced in conjunction with the CES 2018 electronics and technology annual trade show, and will be featured at the Intel booth #10048 in the South Hall. You can learn more about Tello from the Ryze official website.
