Barry Jones joined Movidia in June 2009 from Motorola where he was Operations and Development Director, managing mass market product development on 4 continents.
From 2004 at TTPCom he served as Operations Director of its Terminals , Silicon and Software business units. During this time the company supplied embedded leading edge solutions in 30% of the worlds Mobile Handsets before being bought by one of its customers Motorola in 2007.
In 2000, backed by Philips, Barry Co-founded Magic4 the worlds #1 messaging software supplier providing embedded handset clients solution for EMS , SMS, IM, MMS and PTT . Magic4 was subsequently bought in 2004 by Openwave.
Prior to Magic4 Barry fulfilled a number of senior positions in Philips Consumer Communications division including Business Management and Product Creation, he established the global Smartphone and Data applications business within PCC creating a number of revolutionary products including the first Symbian and Win CE data/phone solutions before heading product strategy.
In 5 years at Sharp he managed both the software development and product functions delivering leading edge mobile devices including PDA's, Electronic Organisers, handheld PC's programmable calculators and mobile phones.
During the last 20 years Barry Jones has successfully delivered more than 100 consumer electronics products to market generating income in excess of $5 billion. He is a Commercial Technologist who has created patents which underpin global Telecoms standards , products which became de facto standards and served as inaugural Centre Director of the UK governments first telecoms accelerator.
